About 200 Kids Attend May J


Mae Jemison library located in Vista University, Mamelodi Campus attracts over 100 learners almost every day. Tuesday was one of the busiest day for both librarians and the learners with about 200 school learners attending.


“I started in 2016, when I get to the library I am able to study, do my homework, make friends with learners from other schools”, said Mohlala Coster from Solomon Mahlangu Freedom School. image-2

Tumelo from Lehlabile secondary School added that she gets internet access and that she can also do her homework. It was her first day on Tuesday at the library. “I feel good that I now have a library card and I’m now going to be a member”, said Tumelo from Lehlabile Secondary School.


Learners from the following high schools attends the library: Stanza Bopape, Lehlabile, Rebane-Laka, Gatang and Phateng.

“It’s been about that for a couple of weeks, it gets very noisy at times but it’s good to see the enthusiasm of these young learners and I love coming here to help these kids”, said Philip Craig the library volunteer.


More kids are expected to come to the library in the next coming weeks.
