Siyabonga Sofala, a 16 year old model, encourages self motivation and confidence in the modelling environment. She discovered her passion in modelling while she was in forth grade performing her first pageant called love at first site. She later joined Miss Mamelodi Finalist this year, 2018. “I did not win, but I’m happy for the winner”, said Siyabonga Sofala. She added that it was fun, she had a great experience and she got to meet new people. “I’ve always told myself that in life there will always be winners and losers, there’s saying that I always reflect on, saying “quitters will never be winners and winners will never be quitters”, It also helps to have a supporting team including my family and friends who were always there, encouraging me, telling me that I’m a winner no matter what”, said Siyabonga. Siyabonga made it clear that it is not easy to get into the modelling industry, as a model you need to be self motivated, have discipline and confidence with your own body, have to be a hard worker and know that you are not always going to win and be prepared for disappointments and lastly love yourself the way you are and change for no one or anything.
