Mamelodi Taxi Association today 10 April 2019, on strike due to the money they are forced to pay to Vusi “Khekhe” Mathibela. Residents were burning tyres since 5am this morning on Tsamaya and Solomon Mahlangu Drive. Buses also can’t operate and left commuters stranded. Rumor says the taxi drivers started paying R55 to the association and now the’re forced to pay R200 to Vusi. Bheki Cele on his last meeting with Mamelodi residents said that the taxi drivers should stop paying Vusi until his case is resolved. The association planned to have a meeting with the drivers today. It is not yet known what are the outcomes of the meeting.
